On Sunday 5th October, the DVI staff and volunteers and Birger family took a break from regular work to tour the north of the country. Each year, the memorial of the late Trudi Birger is commmemorated by all the DVI staff and Birger family members. This year the stunning views of the north of the country were chosen, from the Carmel all the way up to the grottos in Rosh Hanikra. As a fitting memory to Trudi's childhood, part of the day was spent at the "Ghetto Fighters" Kibbutz where a moving ceremony was held in Trudi's memory. Ze'ev Birger, Trudi's husband, read from her book about how she had been saved from the furnaces.
